Comparative analysis of the verbal noun in the Turkish and Yakut languages
Abstract
The article presents an atempt to compare similar functional forms of the verb of two Turkic languages: modern Yakut language and Turkish language. The analysis of Yakut texts proves that verbal noun with affix -ar, which is traditionally referred to participles, in fact combines the meanings which in modern Turkish language are expressed by forms of three inflectional categories — the participle, the action name (Masdar) and the bifunctional forms, called substantive-adjective form (abbreviated as SAF).
