Optative sentences with imperative verb forms in Japanese
Abstract
This paper discusses the definition of frames of imperative and optative in Japanese. The author analyzes sentences where imperative form is used in the meaning of optative and considers formal criteria of how imperative and optative can be distinguished in such cases.
