Normative behavior of modern Tunisians in the mirror of folklore
Abstract
The article is dedicated to the theme of the reflection of folk traditions in the life of modern Tunisians. This work examines the Tunisian tradition of fairy-tales from the position of three main systems of behavior muruvva, asabiyya and din characteristic of the Middle East etiquette in general, and its interpretation in real life, taking into account the peculiarities of the region, established as a result of the mixing of different cultures. The article analyzes the situations and characters of folklore in the proper context and the attitude of the residents of modern Tunisia to them. The scientific literature of the recent years, in the Russian, European and Arabic languages, as well as videos in Tunisian Arabic and the materials of the author’s field research were used in the process of writing this article. Unfortunately, there are very few studies about popular culture in the modern Tunisia that is why this work is particularly relevant in this sphere. Refs 19.
