Nepal in the context of China’s foreign policy (1949–1962)
Abstract
The article examines the role of Nepal in the context of China’s foreign policy in 1949–1962. The author has attempted to identify changes in the development of Sino-Nepalese dialogue against the backdrop of a gradual rise of tension in Sino-Indian relations. In addition, based on publications of the newspaper “Renmin Ribao” and reports of the news agency Xinhua the author also analyzed assessment of the Chinese leadership on the Nepal position on Tibet and the Sino-Indian border dispute.
