The Zialo language and the classification of the South-Western Mande languages
Abstract
The article conducts an analysis of some phonological, morphosyntactic and lexical characteristics of Zialo, the previously undescribed language of the Republic of Guinea, with the purpose of precisely defining its genetic position within the South-Western group of the Mande family of languages. The analysis results into a new proposal on the genetic classification of the languages of the group.
