Geoculture vs chronoculture
Abstract
The binary opposition chronoculture/geoculture introduces a special evaluation scale which poses a question of culture of the modern world being formed between two poles. The pole of chronoculture symbolizes universal values rooted mostly in the western pattern of cultural development, with its emphasis on spiritual independence of individual. The geoculture pole, on the contrary, indicates preservation of local cultural specificity.
