On the category of verbal nominalization in the agglutinative languages
Abstract
The article represents all reliable methods of Altaic linguistics for analyzing forms of verbal nominalization in the agglutinative languages (the Turkic and Mongolian languages in particular). The article includes detailed analysis of classical points of view, which can be found in the works by such linguists as N. Kononov, E. Ubryatova and others. Besides it presents more innovative approaches such as of Novosibirsk school of scientists, headed by prof. M. Cheremisina and the one developed by prof. V. Guzev, whose approach is based on the theory of secondary representation.
