Abstract
The main object of investigation is the activities of the four main branches of maternal Khalwatiya brotherhood in the state of Ag-Goyunlu and the Ottoman Empire. Sayyid Yahya Bakuvi was sheikh and head of the Khalwatiya brotherhood of the XV century, as well as teacher of many congregations. Four of them established main branches of Khalwatiya in the centre of Ottoman Empire: in Istanbul, the capital of the Empire and Amasiya, the city of Ottoman princes (shekhzade). At the same time, their congregations established new indirect communities.
