On the Practice of Using Year Names in the Old Babylonian documents
Abstract
The author tries to examine the real practice of using year names in the Old Babylonian period: how the name of the year was chosen, if it changed during the year after the death of the ruling king or after violent change of the dynasty. To back up her arguments the author adduces the transliteration and translation of the text Stone 1987 22 written after the death of Hammurapi but using the year name of Hammurapi 43 yet.
