Influence of China scholar papers upon political thought of Korea in the second half of XIX century
Abstract
The nineteenth century was a crucial period in history of China and Korea. It was a period of increasing contacts with Western countries. The second half of the nineteenth century in Korea and China was marked by the attempts to open the country to the outside world, by the desire to learn more about foreign countries and to apply the achievements of Western science to strengthen the state power, by the plans to establish civil society, which were united by common concept of modernization movement. Information given in this paper indicates that attention to the works of Chinese scholars such as Wei Yuan
