The Poetics of the Religious Message by Kabir: Some Aspects
Abstract
The paper deals with the poetical works of Kabir (XV c.), the famous Indian Saint and poet, who advocated the doctrine of nirguna-bhakti in Nothern India. The questions of the sources on which the poet’s religious and mystical teaching was formed are also considered in the study. The paper is focused on some characteristic features of the poetics of religious and mystical message as a genre of literature and on the examination of Kabir’s language and poetic style, including the problems of interpretation of the mystical symbols in his poetry.
