Latin America and the Caribbean in contemporary China’s foreign policy strategy
Abstract
From the beginning of the Chinese economic reform until nowadays the foreign policy of the PRC has passed through several stages of development. In the beginning of the 21st century we could witness the rapid growth of the economic and political impact of the People’s Republic of China on the world. According to some forecasts, by the year 2050 China is going to be among the most developed countries of the world. To achieve such results it is necessary to create an effective complex foreign policy strategy emphasising the priority fields. Today so-called developing countries, among which are the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, are taking on special significance in the system of the PRC’s foreign policy interests.
