Current State of Japanese Direct Investment in the European Union
Abstract
This article analyses the state of Japanese investment in the countries of the European Union at the end of the 20th — the beginning of the 21st century. The recent stage in the history of Japanese capital investment in Europe can be described as a time of changing Japanese investment patterns within the EU. Japanese companies are actively investing in the economies of Central and Eastern European countries that joined the EU in the beginning of the 21st century. The author analyses the reasons and possible results of the current transformation.
