Abstract
The Turkish language reform, which began when the Law on the Adoption and Implementation of the Turkish Alphabet was passed on November 1, 1928, is one of the major historical events of the first decade of the Republic of Turkey. An important role in the reform process of the Turkish language was played by the “Hayat” Journal (1926–1929), the publication of which was carried out with the active support of the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Turkey. This Journal was the first to publish the articles about the new script system and the educational materials. Starting from November 29, 1928 all texts in the Journal were printed in the new Turkish alphabet. Refs 14.
