The Buddhist tantric treatise Abhiṣekanirukti: description of the Sanskrit source and translation of the opening and final verses

Abstract

The publication is focused on the Abhiṣekanirukti, a Buddhist tantric treatise of the eleventh century composed by Sujayaśrīgupta. The article contains a description of this Sanskrit work along with some information about the author, Tibetan translations of the treatise, its Sanskrit manuscript, and modern studies. It also includes the first Russian translation of its opening and final verses which are equipped with explanatory notes made by the translator.
