Abstract

Sahara was discovered three times — in the period of antiquity, in the Middle Age and in recent times. The article clearly shows the process of the Great desert’s exploration which was started by ancient Egyptians, Garamants and Punas and continued up to this day. It also narrates the story of the Russian travelers through Sahara.
