Visits of Chinese and Japanese Diplomatic Missions to Russia in the 3d quarter of the 19th century: Communication code of sociocultural interaction.
Abstract
This article studies the role of Chinese and Japanese diplomatic missions in the process of sociocultural
interaction between Russia and East Asian countries in the 3d quarter of the 19th century. The author
analyses diaries and other sources, written or compiled by these diplomats, as well as Russian archival
materials, and gives his own interpretation of the period. Hе considers them to be communication
channels and transmitters of the communication code in sociocultural interaction
