Japanese traditional arts and the iemoto’s actions during Meiji period (1868–1912)
Abstract
The article briefl y describes some traditional Japanese arts during the Meiji period (1868–1912) along with the actions taken by the heads of the schools i.e. iemoto in order to restore interest in traditional arts and return former authority and signifi cance to their schools.
