Russia and Morocco: Main Stages and Features of Evolution of the Bilateral Contacts in the 20th C.
Abstract
The history of bilateral links between Russia and Morocco goes back to the late 18th C., when the first contacts were founded by a correspondence between Catherine the Great and the Moroccan Sultan Muhammad b. Abdallah. The present article is dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the official diplomatic relations between Russia and Morocco established in 1898. The author describes main stages and evolutions in the history of political and cultural interaction between the two countries during the 20th C., also giving an analysis of the present — day situation in the bilateral cooperation.
