Epical textual composing-II (“Another” Krishna)
Abstract
The paper presents an attempt to examine of one of the books from ancient Indian epos “Mahabharata” and its events which stand apart from the plot of the epos. “The Book of the Clubs” XVI deals with the tribal union headed by Krishna who is represented in the rest part of the epos not as a tribal leader, but as a hero, the divine principle of the universe. Present paper is an attempt to show how almost thousand year long lasting tradition while drawing into its orbit and transforming initially alien religious-mythological material is undergoing a steady process of “brahmanical editing”.
