Some landmarks in the course of the history of Russo-Turkish relations from the end of the 17th to the beginning of the 20th Century
Abstract
There is a brief survey of the history of political, economic, and cultural relations between two powerful states — the Russian Empire and the Ottoman Empire. The Russo-Turkish relations have been studied in the framework of the Eastern Question. The author thinks that a huge number of books dedicated to this subject have produced many stereotypes including the myth of the so-called Russian permanent aggressive designs against Turkey.
